Rockleaze Rangers 3 Keynsham Town 2  (HT 2-1)

Keynsham scorers: Ben & Luke.

NEW LOOK KEYNSHAM NARROWLY MISS OUT TO ROCKLEAZE.

Looking to avenge the heavy defeat in October, Keynsham Town had a great start to the match, pressing Rockleaze high up the pitch and retaining the ball very well. In the first 10 minutes it was all Keynsham possession with good intricate passing and attacking football.

The defence of Tommy, Alf, Chaz &  Adam and midfield of Alex, Ben, Ozzie & Max dominated proceedings to the frustration of the home crowd.

Toby & Max both had shots at goal and Rockleaze were very much on the back foot being restricted to the occasional break and long ball forward.

On 12 minutes Rockleaze were awarded a free kick outside of the box and the big No10 (Josh) drove a powerful shot that was pushed onto the cross bar by an outstretched Reegan but the rebound dropped back in and was driven home by a Rockleaze player following in for a 1-0 lead against the run of play!

Despite this setback Keynsham still dominated possession and for the away team did all the attacking football.

Another free kick on 21 minutes saw Rockleaze take a 2-0 lead from a headed goal close in.

However, Keynsham’s heads did not drop and the team were rewarded when Ozzie made a run down the left hand side into the box getting past two and then picking out Ben, who running onto the ball, drove the ball home to make the score 2-1 on 32 minutes.

At the end of the half Toby had a powerful free kick go just over the bar.

In the 2nd half following significant substitutions the roles were reversed with Keynsham sitting deep with Rockleaze pushing forward and using the long throw to their advantage.

On 50 minutes Luke had a speculative long range shot from the left hand side that beat the Rockleaze goalkeeper and roll just over the line to make the score 2-2.

Unfortunately in the latter stages of the game Rockleaze began to have more of the ball and Keynsham were forced to defend and gave away too many free kicks around the penalty area.

Again Keynsham were punished by the Rockleaze No10 when he delivered in a great free kick that was headed past Reegan to make the score 3-2.

Keynsham did have chances to draw level with Brendan heading wide from a nicely delivered Harry free kick and Toby being put through at the end but the score ended 3-2.

A better performance from Keynsham who were only undone again by some set pieces.

The team wish Miles a speedy recovery from his broken wrist.
